The Photonic (Fiber Optic) Sensor Consortium began in 2003 and became part of OIDA in 2005. As we move forward, the opportunities for photonic sensors and sensing systems are considerable. To effectively advance the efforts, the OIDA Photonic Sensor Consortium will have to become more formal. As a result, participation in the Consortium will require membership.

 

If you are not already a member of OIDA, the membership fee is nominal at $500 annually, with no company size limitations. If you are a member of OIDA, there is no fee to participate. However, full OIDA membership provides services and benefits to all the electro-optic markets and is not limited to sensors and includes a number of market development, business development and government relations activities in addition to full access to the Photonic Sensor Consortium materials and activities.

Roadmap defined

Completed preliminary work on specifications that will allow us to move forward on standards as well as track broad industry standards activity.
